This 2' x 3' full color map is a well-researched snapshot of what experts believe to be the ten-year horizon in educational technology. The map, created for the U.S. Department of Education, illustrates five major "streams" of emerging technology that will have enormous impact on education, and juxtaposes them against a spectrum of lively stories about leading-edge uses of technology, along with future scenarios drawn from the best guesses of people closest to new developments.
An accompanying 18-page User Guidebook describes these features, and explains five activities people can participate in using the map. If you are considering important decisions about technology acquisition, policy, or application, then this map and guidebook can be a useful tool to orient people to the big picture.
